Girls Soccer Drops Heartbreaker in Opener

The Whitman Hanson girls soccer team fell to Pembroke 2-1 in the opening match for both teams. Whitman Hanson took the lead 20 minutes in to the second half on a 25yd blast from Cassie Chernicki; Kelsey Murray picked up the assist on the goal. With seven minutes remaining Pembroke found the back of the net tying the score at 1. 3 minutes later Pembroke put home the game winner on a scramble in front of the WH net. WH received strong defensive efforts from Alyssa Eaton, Haley Bukow, Nina Zappi and Nicole Galewski.
