Lady Panthers Make No Mistake By the Lake

The Whitman Hanson girls soccer team defeated Silver Lake 3-0 in a Patriot League matchup. The Panthers got on the board five minutes into the game when Cassie Chernicki sent a ball thru the Silver Lake defense to a streaking Devon Morse who calmly placed it into the right corner. Morse returned the favor 4 minutes later when she slotted a ball in front of the net and Cassie Chernicki finished with a one timed shot to the left corner. The score remained 2-0 until the second half when Chernicki scored her second goal of the game by dribbling two Silver Lake defenders and drilling a shot into the upper right corner. Alyssa Eaton, Nicole Galewski, Lily Higgins, Haley Bukow and Nina Zappi played strong defensive games in front of goalkeepers Lauren Clark and Chrysta Slayton. Whitman Hanson is now 9-1-1 in the league and 11-3-1 overall.
