Coach Daley To be Honored

Whitman-Hanson girls basketball coach Jim Daley will be honored tomorrow night, Friday December 23rd, for his 500th career win. Daley, who became the girls head coach in 1979, recorded the milestone win last Friday night at Hingham high school. The girls gave him win number 501 on Monday night when the Panthers beat Hanover high school. The girls team will play host to Bridgewater-Raynham at 5pm, followed by the boys game at 6:30pm. Prior to the start of the boys game, Coach Daley will be presented with several gifts by his team and the athletic department. There will also be a musical tribute to Coach Daley who last June retired from his position as Athletic Director, a position which he held for 6 years, prior to which he served as a teacher and department head for the History/Social Studies department for 30 years. He graduated from Whitman-Hanson in 1971 and is now in his 41st year of being a Panther (6 AD, 30 teacher/department head, 4 years as a student).
