Panther Invitational

Wresting fans were treated to quite a day of action with Whitman-Hanson capturing two championships - both in thrilling fashion. Overall the Panthers finished 6th our of 12 teams but the major excitement came when two captains recorded championship wins. First it was Senior Colin McSweeney coming from behind with just seconds left to win his final match and the championship in his weight class. That drama looked like it would be tough to top, but fellow captain Greg McGrath was trailing in the final seconds and with just 1 second left on the clock, he pinned his opponent and won the title in his weight class. The third Panther captain, Jeff Bechen had a great day, advancing to the finals in his weight class and taking second place. The coaches, parents and kids made WH proud by putting on a great event. Most of them showed up at 6am today to make sure everything ran smoothly. They didnt walk out of the door until a little after 8pm. Panther Pride at its best!
