WH wrestling wins on road

The Whitman-Hanson Wrestling team posted its fifth win of the season on Wednesday night against a tough Dighton-Rehobeth squad. The Panthers climbed out to an early lead with pins by both Mark Rogers (170 lbs.) and Captain Greg McGrath (195 lbs). The tide then shifted and D-R put together a string of winning matches before W-H's Tyson Plause (126 lbs.) stopped their momentum by pinning his opponent. Going into the last 4 matches of the night that still left W-H down by a team score of 33-18 at the time. Shifting the momentum back to the Panthers, Brody Deminico (138 lbs.) pinned his opponent. Then Jeremy Ashe (145 lbs.) with a key match and in a must win situation delivered a hard fought 19-7 victory over his D-R opponent. That made the team score 33-28 at the time with D-R still having the advantage. Closing the deal and bringing it home for the Panthers was a pin by Zach Perkins (152 lbs.) and a technical fall (stoppage of a match after going ahead on an opponent by 15 pts) by Captain Jeff Bechen who was wrestling for the first time all season after recovering from a pre-season injury! Final score W-H Panthers 39, Dighton Rehobeth 33.
