The Whitman Hanson Panthers split a doubleheader at the Auburn High School Rocket Tournament. The Panthers lost in a first round game to the Northbridge High School Rams 10-2. Jerry Thompson went 2-2 with 2 runs scored and Cory Cocchi was 2-3 with an RBI.
The Panthers captured the second game with an 8-5 win over Worcester Voke Tech. Mike Memolo was a complete game winner improving his record to 2-0, striking out 7 and giving up only 1 earned run. Colin Arseneau led the Panther attack with 2 hits and 2 RBI while Evan Derochea was 2-2 with an RBI. The Panthers ended a 4 game losing streak and are now 2-5 on the season.
The Panthers travel to Cardinal Spellman High School for a nonleague contest at 10 a.m Friday.
