The Whitman-Hanson girls tennis team started their season with a 5-0 win over Ashland...in non-league action.
Victoria Consolini (sr) won at 1st singles...7-5, 6-2
Emily Arthur (sr) won at 2nd singles...8-6, 6-2
Ulna Ngeta (sr) won at 3rd singles...7-5, 6-3
The 1st doubles team of Sheila Bonitatibus (sr) & Lizzie Chmura (jr) won...6-2, 6-0
The 2nd doubles team of Janet Hart (sr) & Lauren Souza (so) won...6-3, 7-5
The JV doubles team of Arianna Comendul (so) & Kaitlin Smith (so) won 6-2
The JV doubles team of Meghan Yakavonis (jr) & Julia Bailey (fr) won 6-1

This was a solid start to the season. The girls battled and played some tough matches...and all of them found a way to win. We still have a lot to work on but I'm happy with the way they competed as well as with the result.
