WH Boys Track Wins Big

The Whitman-Hanson Boys’ Track team had a phenomenal day competing against a talented Silver Lake team on Wednesday, winning the meet with a final score of 84-52.  Nate Stephansky ran a tough double in the mile and two mile against some strong competition to take down two first place finishes.  Tom Sapienza had an awesome day in the javelin throwing 159’ to take first .  The athlete of the meet was Blake Hickey, who won the high jump, high hurdles, and triple jump breaking a record set by Ken Davidson in 1991.  Davidson’s mark of 44’ 8” was topped by Hickey’s 44’ 11.75” bound, which set a new school record.  The Panthers posted a well balanced victory with great times on the track and great numbers in the field events.  The team is now 4-0 on the season and looks ahead to the DII-Relays on Saturday at Walpole High School.
