Volleyball and Golf Fall On The Road

Whitman-Hanson Volleyball lost tonight 3-0 at Duxbury.  The game scores were 15-25, 18-25 and 17-25.  Whitman-Hanson worked hard throughout the match but Duxbury's offensive kept us on our heels for much of the match.  Whitman-Hanson really struggled to get an offense going due to poor serve receive and passing on defense.  Duxbury is a tough serving team and Whitman-Hanson had a hard time getting passes to the setter which prevented sets from being on target to the hitters.  The Panther's played hard on defense making Duxbury earn their points with their scrappy play.  Whitman-Hanson was limited to 2 kills and 2 service aces as a result of Duxbury's defense and serve receive.  Playing well tonight for Whitman-Hanson was Leah Pedersen who played Right Side for the first time this season and interrupted Duxbury's big hitters with her presence at the net.  Also playing well was Abby Trapp with 3 blocks and one of the teams two aces.  Whitman-Hanson plays Silver-Lake on Friday at home.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The WH Panthers lost again to the duxbury Dragon 255-227 at Duxbury Yacht Club.

Sophomore Cole Manning shot an impressive 3 over par to lead the way for the team.

They face a very young and talented Hingham team at home tomorrow, where they hope to pull off the upset.

The overall record is 5-7; they are 5-6 in the league.
