Volleyball Falls at Quincy

The Whitman-Hanson Panthers played the Quincy Presidents in Quincy tonight and the Presidents took win 3-0.  The game scores were 16-25, 19-25 and 18-25.  Whitman-Hanson played much better against Quincy in this second match up between the two teams, but the Quincy offense was too strong for the Panthers to keep up with.  Whitman-Hanson struggled throughout the night to get their offense going and failed to be aggressive with their hitting.  Quincy is a strong defensive team and Whitman-Hanson played into their hands by sending lots of free balls over the net when they should have been hitting.  The Panthers defense played very well tonight by passing well against a strong hitting team.  The two teams played quite a few sustained rallies with both team making some really good plays to keep the ball in play.  Playing well tonight for Whitman-Hanson were Abby Benvie with 3 kills and 9 digs; Erin Clifford with 8 kills and 9 digs; and Erin Doherty with 12 assists.  Whitman-Hanson plays at Middleboro on Wednesday.
