Boys Basketball

In one of the most incredible games in recent memory, Whitman-Hanson beat Scituate in double overtime, 81-75 in the Panther Winter Classic.  The Panthers were down 12 in the 4th quarter, down 8 with 2 minutes left and down 5 with 25 seconds left but rallied all the way back to force the extra sessions capped off by Senior Cory Cocchi’s (16 points) buzzer beating 3 pointer.  In the final extra session Shane Devlin (20 points) knocked down a big 3 pointer and drilled 2 free throws to seal the win.  Senior captain Brian Feeney was unstoppable finishing with 22 points.  Senior Zach Downey (13 points) led the furious comeback with 8 4th quarter points while sophomore Mitchell Kinney grabbed 6 rebounds and scored 4 points during that stretch in the 4th.  Whitman-Hanson finishes the season at 17-3 while Scituate wraps up the year at 15-5.
