> The Panthers had their home opener against Silver Lake and lost a great back and forth 2-3. The set scores were 25-22, 24-26, 22-25, 25-22 and 4-15. Whitman Hanson came out strong in the first set getting out to an early lead but as was the case throughout the match the Panther's sloppy play allowed the Lakers to come back in every game. The Panther's fought hard in the third set to rally back to tie the game at 24-24 but ultimately ran out of steam and couldn't close out the set. In the fourth set the Panther's rallied back after getting down early. In the fifth and deciding set the Panther's came out really flat and just couldn't keep pace with the Laker attack. Stand out players for the Panthers tonight were Erin Clifford with 10 kills and 5 aces; Sophie O'Brien with 6 kills and 2 blocks; and Madison Scott who helped get us several leads throughout the match with her serve had 7 aces and 11 digs. The Panthers play at North Quincy on Monday.
