Girls LAX

The Whitman-Hanson Girls Varsity Lacrosse team took on Dartmouth last night in a non-league match-up. Captain Cait McCormick, Captain Rachel Spillane, Arica McCarthy, Liz Hyslip, Emily Mossman, and Kaity Carpenter were all honored for senior night. Carpenter went down with a knee injury early in the game. It was a tough break for her and the team. Dartmouth busted out to a 3-0 lead shortly after that. The Panthers had a surge of energy and before long the score was tied 4-4. Unfortunately, that was the last time the game was close. Dartmouth started pounding the ball towards the goal and went up 11-4 at the half. W-H came back with more energy and started fighting back, but it was too late. The Panthers ended up losing 14-8. Freshman goalkeeper Alyssa Nicholson had an impressive game with a season-high 19 saves. Scoring for the Panthers was Rachel Kelly (3 goals, 1 assist), Liz Hyslip (1 goal), Arica McCarthy (1 goal), Cait McCormick (1 goal), Sarah Conant (1 goal), and  Mel McAleer (1 goal) who went end line to end line for her score. Rachel Spillane and Gabby Majenski each had an assist as well. The Panthers are now 6-13 on the season (5-4 league). Their final game will be in Pembroke on Wednesday.
