> The All State Track and Field Championships were held Saturday at Fitchburg State University. The Girls team was lead by sophomore sprinter and jumper Alex Santos, Alex placed 7th in the long jump and 6th in the 200 meters to medal in both events. In the 200 meters Alex showed amazing sportsmanship when she slowed down to help an athlete who fell over the finish line costing her 4th place but showing what kind of person and sportsman she is, this goes beyond the track we are all proud of Alex. Sam Coletti medaled and placed 7th in the mile, finishing off an amazing season. Senior Kelsey Tierney ran the 2 mile for the lady Panthers and finished an outstanding career, she will run next year at Tufts. On the boys side freshmen Brian Edwards competed in the high jump getting out at 5'10", Brian was the only freshmen in the state to qualify for the high jump yesterday, his future is very bright. The meet caps off a great year for track and field at Whitman-Hanson with several school records broken two winning seasons and the hosting of the state relays.
