Whitman-Hanson loses to North Quincy 3-1
Whitman-Hanson hosted the North Quincy Raiders and lost 3-1 despite strong play by the Panthers. The game scores were 15-25, 25-23, 9-25 and 21-25. The Panthers got out to a slow start in the first set and had a hard time climbing back into the match. They were able to pull within a few points but the Raiders attack made key plays to earn the win in the first set. In the second set the Panthers played strong throughout the set and were able to earn the win by serving tough and making smart plays in the hitting game. In the third set the Panthers struggled to keep up with the Raiders serving or hitting and as a result the Panthers could not get their own offense going. The Panthers struggles allowed the Raiders to build confidence in their own game which resulted in them out hitting the Panthers to clinch the fourth set victory and the match. Playing well tonight for the Panthers were Sophia Raiche with 13 digs and 22 serves received and Alyssa Gacicia with 12 assists. The Panthers move to 2-3 on the season and head to Plymouth North on Friday.
