Girls Track

Despite wins by Whitman-Hanson's  Alexandra Santos (55 Meters, 7.82 and 300 Meters 44:10); Nicole Norve (1000 Meters, 3:19.01); Abbie Newman (Mile, 5:32) and Samantha Coletti (2 Mile, 11:23),  Plymouth South's depth in Field Events in the High Jump, Long Jump and Shot Put where it scored 24 of a possible 27 points was the difference in the Panthers 53-47 loss, dropping them to 0-3.  Top finishers for PS in the field events included Meghan Gallerani (High Jump, 4' 8"), Maddie Sessler (Long Jump, 15' 5.5") and Eleigh Mouiltan (Shot Put, 24' 8.5".)

Good news? While we remain winless this season you did record no less than four more qualifying times last evening.  These include Alex in the 300, Nicole in the 1000, Abbie in the Mile and Samantha in the 2 Mile.  I am also disputing the final results posted on the 4 X 400 where I believe our girls (Newman, Norve, L. Perkins and Coletti) ran a qualifying time of 4:29 (the official results show 9:29!!)  I am certain our fortune changes next week versus Duxbury where I expect our Field Events to make an impact.

Now to the great news . . . You're all here for an education.  Six of our Cross Country athletes have been recognized for their superior academic achievements and their stellar athleticism and were selected for the MSTCA Eastern Mass D3 All Academic XC team.  Congratulations go to Samantha Coletti, Abbie Newman, Nicole Norve, Sam Evans, Lukas Moscoso and Jack Ryan!!!  We are proud of your accomplishments, in your sport and in the classroom!  GREAT JOB!!
