Panther Golf Takes Down EB

The Panther golf team improved to 10-6 today after defeating non-league opponent East Bridgewater at Ridder Farm 33.5-20.5. The contest was played in match play format, which means each player battles their opposition and every hole is worth one point. Unlike stroke play where the low score wins, each player is capable of earning nine points, and in the end, the high score wins.

The two captains for Whitman Hanson lead in al ways today, each shooting a true 1 over par 35; Luke Tamulevich defeated his man 7.5-1.5, while fellow captain John Murphy won his match 5.5-3.5. Junior JP Drier continued his improved play as of late as he defeated his man 6.5-2.5. Lastly, Junior Aidan Cotter, in his first match as a Panther, shook off the nerves and defeated his man 7-2.

It was a total team win, especially in the unfamiliar scoring format, but the Panthers can celebrate only momentarily as they host the undefeated league champion Duxbury Dragons tomorrow in their final home match.
