> Whitman-Hanson hosted Rockland on Thursday night and earned the straight set victory 3 sets to none. The game scores were 26-24, 25-19 and 25-22. The Panthers started the match with sloppy play in both their passing and hitting game. It was only the tough Panther serves that kept them in the match at the beginning. Both teams played back and forth in the first set with each team making great plays and errors at different points. The Panthers found themselves leading 22-21 thanks to strong serves by Giulia Ruscazio and were able to pull ahead finally for the win thanks to strong hitting by Sophie O'Brien and Amanda Anderson.

> In the second and third sets the Panthers got out to early leads and despite several rallies by Rockland the Panthers never gave up their lead. In the third set the Panthers were led by outstanding play at the net by Halle Julian who dominated both blocking and hitting. The Panthers pushed the score to 21-15 and then Rockland's hitters came alive for a stretch to pull within a few points. In the end the Panthers serving and play at the net by the middle hitters proved to be too much for Rockland. Rockland gave the Panthers set and match point on a serve out of bounds. Leading the way for the Panthers tonight were Halle Julian with 12 kills and 7 blocks; Sophie O'Brien with 8 kills and 6 blocks; Jessica Nihan with 4 kills and solid defense; and Tori Perry with 34 assists. The Panthers are now 8-7 on the season and head to Hingham on Saturday.
