Panther Wrestling Co-Captains win Weymouth Invitational

It was a great day for the Whitman-Hanson Senior co-capatians Jake Filicicchia and John Will, as both wrestlers places First in their respective weight classes at the annual Weymouth Invitational held on Saturday January 14th.
Both wrestlers were seated second in their weight classes and upset their opponents in the finals.  Jake, wrestling at 113 pounds had to go to the 3rd overtime at 4-4 and won on criteria.  This was one of the most exciting finals of the day.  John Will wrestling in the 220 pound class was not to be denied as he revenged an early season loss to his Boston Latin opponent 5-1.  This was the first tournament championship for both wrestlers.  Also placing 6th for the Panthers was 132 pound wrestler Ben Cordingley.  Ben wrestled very well today and deserved his 6th place finish.

  4. Wrestling as a competitive sport has been around for centuries. That makes sense, as wrestling doesn't require any specialized equipment other than your own body, and you don't need to organize an entire team of people to participate.wrestling supplies
