Today Whitman- Hanson Boys' Varsity Soccer hosted Silver Lake in the first Patriot League game of the season for both sides with the Lakers escaping with a 3-2 win. The game got out to a quick start with Whitman- Hanson jumping out to an early 1-0 lead. Not long after Silver Lake equalized. Then Silver Lake took control of the momentum with Whitman- Hanson holding on and defending until 1 minute to go in the half when Silver Lake headed in a corner. The second half was well contested from both sides. Silver Lake was able to get the all important 3rd goal in the second half with about 10 to play. Whitman- Hanson made it interesting in the end by scoring with less than 2 to play, but that would be the end of the scoring. Both teams competed hard today and should be commended for their efforts. Sophomore Jason Brodeur scored the first for Whitman- Hanson and freshman Brendan Nehiley scored the 2nd for W-H. Kyle Nehiley assisted both goals.
