Whitman Hanson Wrestling had its first home meet of the season tonight losing a hard fought match against league rival Plymouth North 54-28. WH is now 1-1 in league matches and 2-4 overall.
Bright spots for the Panthers were 126 pound Freshman Matt Butler with a pin in his first ever wrestling match at 2:40 of the second period. Senior Captain Ben Cordingley followed up with a pin in 4:34 of the third period at 132 pounds. Freshman Damari Goldsmith Greene won his match at 138 pounds by a 12-2 score. Sophomore Tyley Cullinan wrestling in the 160 pound class added to his team leading pin total win a pin at 4:55 of the third period. Senior Captain Steve Osborne won by forfeit at 182 pounds to round out the Panther scoring.
Up next for the Panthers is the 37 team Marshfield Holiday Tournament being held on December 27-28.
