Whitman-Hanson Wrestling Wins It's opener

The Whitman-Hanson Wrestling team started off it's dual meet season with a hard fought 30-27 victory at Quincy High School tonight.  Leading the way for the Panthers was Freshman 113 pounder Cole Norton with a win by fall in his first ever high school match.  Cole pinned his opponent in 5:30 of the 3rd period.  Senior Captain Ben Cordingley made quick work of his Quincy wrestler in 1:25 of the first period.  Sophomore Tyler Cullinan lost a close bout 6-8 to a quality Quincy wrestler who pinned Tyler a year ago.  Also scoring points for the Panthers were Freshmen Myles McGinnis by forfeit at 106 pounds, Sophomore Steve Brooks at 152 pounds and Senior captain Logan Scriven at 170 pounds, all by forfeit.  Sophomore Bethany Ralph wrestled a tough match at 126 while Freshmen Aiden O'Brien 120 pounds, Sophomore Davi Dos Santos 138 pounds and Freshmen Logan Heath all lost their respective matches.

The Panthers are now 1-0 in the Patriot League Keenan Division and 1-0 overall.  Our next competition will be held on Saturday at Marshfield high school with a Super Quad beginning at 9:30am.

Tonight also marks a new era in Whitman-Hanson Wrestling as we wore our new two piece uniform for the first time ever.
