WH Baseball wins Again

In Patriot League baseball action, senior Jason Green joined Korey Howard and Ethan Phelps as they all won their first varsity starts on the mound this week. Green scattered 5 hits, striking out 7, and walked only one batter on his way to a 5-2 victory over visting Duxbury.
> Whitman-Hanson jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning when lead-off hitter Ethan Phelps walked, stole second and third, and came home on a fielder's choice.
> Duxbury tied the game in the fifth to make it 1-1, but W-H answer with 3 runs in the bottom half of the inning to make it 4-1 The big blow was a single by Mike Cook .
> Duxbury scored another run in the sixth to make it 4-2, but W-H added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth after Danny Kent walked and eventually scored from second base on another single by Cook.
> Whitman Hanson is now 6-1 overall and 6-1 in the Patriot League.
