The Whitman-Hanson Field Hockey Panthers played at home against the Silver Lake Lakers and won 2-1. The first half ended in 0-0 tie highlighted by defensive stands by both teams. Captain Olivia Sheehan, defender, ran 15 yards back to her net and stole the ball from a Laker forward who was about to go one on one with goalie Maddie Savicke. In the second half, the Panthers struck first with a goal from Midfielder Victoria Ryan, her first of the year. The Panthers were able to work the ball back into the arc and Lauren Clark scored her second of the year with about 10 minutes left in the game. The Lakers were able to capitalize in the closing minutes of the game.
