WH Field Hockey Falls at Home

The Whitman-Hanson Field Hockey Panthers played against the Duxbury Dragons and lost 2-0. Duxbury dominated the game offensively and challenged the Panther Defense practically the entire first half. The Panthers gave up a goal on a penalty corner, which gave Duxbury a 1-0 lead. In the second half, the Panthers were pushing the ball past the 50 year line, however, the Duxbury defense was stopping Panther rushes. The Dragons continued to attack the Panther's defense. Maddie Savicke, goalie for the Panthers, was outstanding. She made well over 20 saves throughout the game. The Panthers defense did everything to clear the ball and stop the onslaught of Duxbury forwards. The Panthers defense was stellar having to deal with the Dragons in their zone. Duxbury was able to score a second goal on a defensive breakdown.
