The Whitman Hanson boys basketball team earned a hard fought win over Archbishop McCarthy (of Tampa, FL), 84-75 in the Haines City Tournament. 4 players had double figures for WH, Ben Rice (26), Joey Depina and Jon Zeidan (13 each) and Cole Lewis (12).
"This was a great team win, our second unit really played a terrific game and they were the difference. Joey and Cole shot it well, but Tajh Hunter, Ryan Bosse and Liam Keene were also key to 2 important runs in the game. I'm really proud of the kids to beat a team of that quality tonight," Panther coach Bob Rodgers said.
The Panthers were red hot behind the arc connecting on 12 of 18 3 point attempts. Whitman Hanson improves to 4-2 and plays Vierra High School tomorrow in the final game of the tournament.
