On Friday, May 15, 2025 at 7:00 PM, Merlin will perform a live concert at her alma mater, Whitman-Hanson Regional High School, in the brand-new state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center. The concert will help support Whitman-Hanson Athletics which sustained drastic budget cuts this school year. Born and raised in Hanson, Massachusetts, Kristen Merlin is a proud product of the Whitman-Hanson community. A graduate of WHRHS, she went on to study music and sound recording at the University of New Haven before dedicating herself fully to a career in music. Her country-pop sound, powerhouse voice, and electrifying stage energy have earned her a devoted following across New England and beyond. A Voice Whitman-Hanson Has Known All Along Long before the country knew Kristen Merlin’s name, Whitman-Hanson fans already knew her voice. Kristen recorded the National Anthem for the school district while still in high school — a recording so remarkable that it has been used at Whitman-Hanson athletic events ever since. Anyone who has cheered on the Panthers at a home game has heard the voice that would one day captivate millions. Kristen rose to national prominence as a top-five finalist on Season 6 of NBC’s The Voice, where she competed on Team Shakira and earned praise from all four coaches. She has since released her debut EP Boomerang, which reached number two on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. She has also been named South Shore’s Best Acoustic Solo Act by the Boston Nightlife Awards and has performed the National Anthem at a Red Sox game.
