WH Westling Battles Adversity with Impressive Day


Saturday the W-H Wrestling team ventured to Plymouth South High School to face off with Brockton, Catholic Memorial and Plymouth South. The Panthers went 1-2 on the day with a depleted line up due to injuries and sickness. They were able to pull out a 57-19 win over Brockton with wins by Tyson Plause (126 lbs.), Zach Perkins (152 lbs.), Jeff Bechen (160 lbs.), Mark Rogers (170 lbs.), Greg McGrath (220 lbs.) and Nate Baker (285 lbs.)
 
The Panthers next faced Catholic Memorial but came up a short for the victory falling 43-28 to a tough CM team. Winnners for W-H included Mario Thompson (160 lbs.), Mark Rogers (170 lbs.), Connor Ballinger (182 lbs.), Greg McGrath (195 lbs.), Zach Ledwell (220 lbs.) and Nate Baker at (285 lbs.)
 
Lastly the Panthers faced one of the topped ranked teams in the state with Plymouth South. The most exciting match of the day proved to be Zach Perkins at (152 lbs.) as he came back to pin his PS opponent after falling behind early in a tough fought match. Another exciting win came when Luke Rogers (120 lbs.) started off the meet by pinning his opponent in the first match of the event.
 
The Panthers head into this week with a League title match up with Hingham on 1/30/13.
