Wrestling keeps title hopes alive

This Wednesday night the W-H Wrestling team posted its ninth win of the season beating Quincy in a closely contested league match 48-29.
Pulling out  a tough fought 7-6 win for the Panthers was Luke Rogers (120 lbs.) over an opponent he had just lost to one week earlier. Then Kevin Meehan (138 lbs.) pulled out a much needed victory 7-0 over his Quincy opponent. Robert Bunszell (145 lbs.) looking the sharpest he's looked all season stepped up and pinned his opponent. This still left the team point score in favor of Quincy at the time with a 17-12 lead. After a few hard fought losses Mark Rogers (170 lbs.) turned the tied for W-H pinning his opponent in the second period. Greg McGrath continued the winning ways with a pin in the first period over his Quincy rival. Nate Backer (285 lbs.) finished off the night for the Panthers with a first period pin and the final score resulted in another W-H league victory 48-29.
The win sets up a showdown next Wednesday 1/30/13 at Hingham High School for the league championship, with both teams currently undefeated in the league.
