> The Whitman-Hanson Panthers went to Pembroke tonight and came away with a hard fought 3-2 victory. Game scores were 25-22, 22-25, 24-26, 25-22 and 16-14. Both teams battled back and forth through all of the sets with the lead changing hands repeatedly in each. Whitman-Hanson was able to overcome some sloppy play in their first game of the season to come away with the win. Key players in the game were Sophomore Sophie O'Brien who had 6 kills and had many great heads up plays at the net. Also standing out tonight was co-Captain Erin Clifford who had 4 kills, 1 ace 8 digs and 17 successful serve receives. A great start to the season for the Panthers. Whitman-Hanson play at Duxbury on Wednesday night.
