> The Whitman-Hanson Panthers traveled to Silver-Lake tonight and played a great game to come away with the win 3-2. Whitman-Hanson started the match slowly with several key errors leading to a loss in the first set. The Panthers came into the second set and were determined not to go down 2 sets to none. Despite being down at several points in the set they battled back with good serving and good play in the passing game to win the set. In the third set the Panthers had a hard time getting into their offense which allowed the Lakers to push the pace of the game and seal out the win. In the 4th and 5th sets the Panthers were able to put a complete game together and come out with the win in both sets. Sophomore Sophie O'Brien was able to finish the Panthers win with a big block to get the final point of the game. The Panthers played great as a team, but standing out especially tonight were Erin Clifford with 16 kills, 24 serve receives and 2 blocks; Sophia Raiche with 23 serve receives and 10 digs; and Sophie O'Brien with 14 kills and 5 blocks. The Panthers move to 5-8 on the season and play at Plymouth North on Friday.
