Whitman-Hanson Wrestling
(13-3-1) finished its regular season Wednesday afternoon with a league match up
against the Silver Lake Lakers. Sophomore Tim Cronin got things started
with a second period pin at the 106 lbs. weight class. Cory Reid recorded a 5-2
win at 113 lbs. and then the Panthers recorded four consecutive pins by Jake
Filichiccia, Mike McDonough, Tysun Plouse and Luke Rogers. As the Lakers
recorded a few wins in the upper weight classes the Panthers finished strong
with pins by Dan Bean (160 lbs.) and Cole Berthelette (220 lbs.). The
meet ended with a WH win 51-24. As the regular team season has ended the
individual wrestlers now set their sights on the Sectional Tournament being
hosted at WH this Saturday. They'll be competing to finish high enough for a
bid to the state tournament at their perspective weight classes.
