The Panthers (1-0) traveled to Merrymount Park in Quincy to take on Quincy/North Quincy in Cross Country Tuesday afternoon. In the Boys race, Q/NQ's Jimmy Cannon placed first with a time of 14:04 over the 2.5 mile course. Whitman-Hanson then placed the next six runners for the win, 20-40. Junior Andrew Newman was Whitman Hanson's top finisher in 14:12 to take second place. He was followed by Senior Captain Lukas Moscoso (14:25), Junior Captain Jack Ryan (14:31), Senior Captain Bryce Pulkinen (14:52) and Juniors Alex Uva (15:56) and Cam Wilson (16:09.)
The Whitman-Hanson Girls (0-1) dropped a close one in losing to Quincy/North Quincy 25-30. Abbie Murphy finished in 17:32 for the win for Quincy/North Quincy. Whitman-Hanson Senior Captain Olivia Morse placed 2nd overall in 17:40. Quincy/North Quincy took 3rd and 4th to seal the victory. Other W-H standouts were Juniors Lillian Perkins (18:49) and Julia Cosgrave (18:52.)
