Whitman-Hanson FIeld Hockey

The Whitman-Hanson Field Hockey Panthers played against the Hingham Harbormen in Hingham, MA today.  The Harbormen beat the Panthers by a score of 3-0.  The game was close in the first half, with downpours of rain throughout as the both teams tried to take control of the ball.  The Harbormen were able to score off a penalty corner late in the first half to make the score 1-0.  The Harbormen pinned the Panthers down in their end for most of the second half.  The Panthers had to fight off at least 15 penalty corners during the game.  The Panthers defense was truly tested by these infractions.  The Panthers gave up 2 more penalty corner goals to the Harbormen in the second half.  The Panthers determination to fight off goals due to penalty corners was impressive.  The Panthers are back in action on Tuesday against Plymouth South.  This is scheduled to be a senior night for the Panthers.
