RECAP WH Gymnastics Meet 1/13/18




Gymnastics: Whitman-Hanson vs Scituate

Whitman-Hanson Panther gymnasts picked up another Patriot League win with their highest team score (128.0) over the Scituate Sailor's (116.4).

Senior, Britney Blackstone, was victorious in the all-around competition with a season high score (35.5).  She also swept the individual events: vault (9.2), uneven bars (9.0), balance beam (8.0), and floor exercise (9.3). 

Sophomore, Sarah Bombardier, placed second in the all-around competition (30.6). Sarah posted the meet's second highest score on vault (8.6) and third highest score on floor exercise (8.0).

Freshman, Savannah Poirier, had the meet's second highest scores on uneven bars (7.6) and floor exercise (8.6). She also had Whitman-Hanson's third highest score on vault (8.2).

Junior Joelle Puopolo posted season high scores on uneven bars (7.1) and floor exercise (8.0), which were both Whitman-Hanson's third highest scores. 

Freshmen Brooke Astuto (8.0) and Madison Scaccia (8.0) put up season high vault scores to start the meet. 

The team struggled on their last event of the day, balance beam. However, Junior Erin McCoy, mainstay in the lead off position, strongly started the event off with her third stuck beam routine of the season.
