Baseball Advances to Patriot Cup Finals

Co-Captain Tommy Marshall took his turn on the hill for Whitman-Hanson today and pitched the Panthers into the Patriot Cup Finals by scattering 6 hits, walking 1, and striking out 12 Duxbury batters in a 6-2 win at home.

Tommy also helped his own cause by going 3 for 4 at the plate including an RBI double off of Duxbury starter Matt Festa  in the bottom of the 4th to break a 2-2 tie.

The Panthers went ahead 2 to 0 in the bottom of the first inning after Bobby Marshall led off the game with a single.

Cole LeVangie struck the big blow in the bottom of the fifth when he drove a triple to the fence and scored 2 more runs to put W-H up 5-2.

Junior Aidan Barry then  followed him with an RBI double of his own.

Bobby Marshall came in on and pitched the last inning, striking out 2 hitters and retiring the side in order..

Whitman-Hanson is now 8-2 in Patriot League  and 10-2 overall.

On Monday the Panthers will travel to Plymouth South, who beat Plymouth North today in their semi-final game.
