Baseball Wins First Round Patriot Cup

It was senior Bobby Marshall's turn to take the ball when Whitman-Hanson played its first round game for The Patriot Cup down in Plymouth South today. Not only Marshall shut his team's opponent out with a 1-hitter, in the top of the fifth inning he hit a long triple that knocked in senior catcher TJ Whitman, who scored W-H's first run all the way from first with a headfirst slide on a close play.

Then with 2 outs, senior Jack Allen came up and lined a 2-strike single to left to score senior Sam Figueiredo, who had come in to run for Marshall, for Whitman-Hanson's second run.

Bobby Marshall struck out 9 and walked only 1 Plymouth South batter to help Whitman - Hanson get to 9-3 overall.

Co-captain Tommy Marshall, Bobby's brother, and senior Ty Gordon each had a double for Whitman-Hanson.

Co-captain Danny Kent and junior second baseman Aidan Barry made big plays behind Bobby Marshall.
