Whitman-Hanson Girl Lacrosse falls to #2 Wellesley in the playoffs

Wellesley's powerhouse offense was too much for the Panthers defensive unit as they dominated the draw and controlled the ball until later in the game on their way to a 15-1 win over WH girls lax. Whitman-Hanson began to clear the ball better and get some offense going as the game progressed. Rosie MacKinnon stepped in to help with the draw and started winning some, which helped the Panthers get some time with the ball on offense. Defender Joli Flamos, was moved up to midfield and ended up scoring the only goal and it was her first goal of the season. The three senior captains, Savannah Poirier, Bryn Miller and Katie Mulligan, who were also the only seniors remaining on the team at the end of the season, lead the team with upbeat attitudes and kept the focus positive. The team was able to keep their heads up and learn from the experience. The team finished 4-11-1 on the season and look forward to a more traditional season in 2022.
