WH Athletics Weekly Recap
It was a very busy week in WH Athletics! As a reminder, you can find updates on every game on Twitter (@whathletics) and Facebook.
A Note on Friday Night
As some of you may have heard, there were two disappointing incidents at Friday's football game. It's important for our community to understand that these were isolated incidents. They do not reflect the values of our school or athletic department, and they are not typical of our events. The Hanson Police officers who cover our details will tell you that they rarely have significant issues at our games, and no one can remember a fight at one of our events before.
We are making some changes to our game day protocol that we believe will help prevent something like this from happening again. We will share those details through School Status later this week.
Celebrating a Great Week
I want to focus on the great things happening here, and despite those issues, Friday night was amazing. Our students dressed in pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We held a meaningful Senior Night presentation for our band, majorettes, cheerleaders, and football team. At halftime, we met the newest class of the WH Athletics Hall of Fame.
That class was officially inducted on Sunday at Pembroke Country Club, and the pictures from the event can be found at www.whathletics.com courtesy of Sue Moss. If you would like to nominate someone for a future class, you can do so at whathletics.com. The next induction will be in October 2028.
