W-H Girls Lacrosse

The Whitman-Hanson Girls Varsity Lacrosse team won their preliminary round state tournament game at Nauset today 10-4. The first half saw the Warriors come out with some speed and WH found themselves in a 3-0 hole. Some small adjustments on defense and more hustle on the circle led the Panthers to a 5-3 lead with 4 minutes to go in the first half. The game was held for 45 minutes for thunder and resumed with same score leading into the break The second half was all WH. Ashley Memmolo was sensational on the draw leading to Lauren Bonavita's 8 draw controls. Anni Putur, Maddi Tassey, Cam Boyce, Gabby Trongone, and Camille Miller were relentless on defense keeping Nauset to one 2nd half goal. Kasey Molito had another brilliant game with 10 saves on 14 shots. Bonavita was absolutely brilliant on offense as she scored 5 goals and kept the ball away from Nauset for most of second half. Zoe Lydon had a hat trick and beautiful assist to Riley Bina (2G). The Panthers will now face Notre Dame Academy (Hingham).
