Field Hockey 10/09

The Whitman-Hanson Field Hockey Panthers played at home against the Hanover Indians and tied 2-2.  Hanover scored first right off a penalty corner in opening minutes of the game.  Thereafter, the Indians continued to dominate the offensive zone.  The Panthers began to move the ball with speed and agility toward the closing of the half and were able to score twice with one minute left in the period.  Robin Goyette found the back of the net and then Delanie MacDonald joined her on the scoresheet seconds after.   In the second half, the Panthers defense took over.  Hanover had many opportunities to tie the game, but goalie Madison Savicke and her defense were relentless at stopping opportunities.  Hanover was able to put one past the defense with just two minutes left in the game to tie the score.
